Electoral Services are looking to fill a vacancy within the team to cover the current postholder's maternity leave on a fixed term or secondment until the end of December 2024.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to assist in developing and taking part in promotional strategies and promoting voter awareness.
You will assist in reviewing and developing systems and procedures to maximise registration in under-registered groups and work within the community to promote and actively encourage registration and participation in elections.
You will also take an active role in the recruitment and appointment of canvassers and will be responsible for maintaining an accurate and up-to-date list of promotional and engagement activities, including a programme of household visits throughout the year.
As a member of the team, you will also play a key role in the planning and delivery of local and national elections and referendums, providing administrative support and leading on key activities for which you should have considerable knowledge of electoral processes.
You will have a good understanding of information governance practices and handling sensitive personal information. In addition, you will have excellent ICT skills and verbal and written communication skills and work with a high degree of accuracy.
There will be a requirement to work additional hours which will include evenings and weekends during election periods, and on occasion during key electoral activities to meet the demands of the service.
Please note this is a politically restricted post.
