Cumbria County Council are committed to the resettlement of families who have been displaced by conflict. The Resettlement Team are expanding services as we move towards resettling families from a range of countries, as part of the following programmes:
- Homes For Ukraine
- UK Resettlement Scheme (Syria and Mena region)
- Afghanistan Resettlement Assistance Policy (ARAP)
- Afghanistan Citizens Resettlement Scheme (ACRS)
- Asylum
This is an exciting opportunity to provide services that improve quality of life and support family integration in our local communities.
The Role
The role requires a good understanding of resettlement along with a depth of knowledge regarding relevant legislation, policy and guidance as well as a good knowledge of cultural needs. The successful applicant will allocate, coordinate and manage employees as well as volunteers in the delivery of support packages and have significant experience in using Early Help Assessment/Plan/Team Around the Family and a good working knowledge of the Signs of Safety. Promoting best practice, service development and monitoring, working with a range of providers both internal and external as well as contracted services.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of resettlement and the reasons for resettlement along with a good knowledge of cultural needs. We are looking for a person who has a good working knowledge and experience of Early Help, reviewing case information, evaluating and monitoring including risk management.
We are seeking applicants who have experience in allocating, coordinating planning and supervising employees and volunteers as well as contractors and partners. Strong communication skill and the ability to lead on effective partnerships, internal and external including third sector and develop good working relationships are essential.
Experience of monitoring, reviewing and verifying programmes of work against set standards and the ability to plan work and resource allocation are essential along with the ability to contribute to service improvements.
This role requires an enhanced DBS check with a Children Barred List check
