Morton on Swale Children’s Resource Centre provides support to children and young people with disabilities. They offer short breaks and day care and support young people to access local facilities, and have adventures. We are looking for people who are enthusiastic about involving all of our young people within the community and in centre based activities.
Many young people we support have autism with varying levels of challenging behaviours. Some young people have complex health needs requiring additional support with moving and transferring, epilepsy management, administrating of medication and gastro and feed care for which you would receive training.
The role requires staff to work shifts including early mornings, evenings, sleep ins and waking nights as appropriate to the post they apply for but there are additional shifts which are available to staff to pick up on a monthly basis.
As a Resource Centre Worker you would be working within a staff team throughout the day but required to lone work if carrying out a waking night duty but would have sleep in staff to support if required.
You will be required to carry out duties such as personal care, housekeeping tasks, key working and medication amongst other duties. You would also be required to work 26 weekends of the year
We are looking for part time, relief and waking night staff to join our committed team at Morton on Swale Children’s Resource Centre.
We need passionate, committed, creative, enthusiastic and highly skilled child focussed professionals with a positive approach and an understanding of safeguarding practice in a registered childcare setting. You should be an effective communicator who can adapt the way you communicate to engage young people who may not use words to speak.
You should have willingness to complete an apprenticeship as part of your role to a level 4 standard.
You will need to demonstrate good recording skills, IT skills and an ability to work within professional boundaries.
In return for your commitment to us, you will work within a supportive and child focussed team, receive regular training, supervision, appraisal and have lots of fun.
If you would like to discuss any of these opportunities further please contact Paula Stainthorp or Rebecca Frazer (Deputy Managers) on 01609 536797
We look forward to exploring your interest and receiving your application.
