An innovative and engaging Highways Asset Principal to work within the Highways Asset Team in Asset Management at Lancashire County Council.

We're eager to find a compelling and persuasive individual to take advantage of this brand-new opportunity within our Highways Asset Team. It is time to develop and create new strategies for our service, establishing effective changes for the new digital age to drive the service through effective information and performance management.. You will get to grips with the evolution of asset management with a risk-based approach, reviewing and implementing crucial policies and procedures. Managing your team with a strategic perspective, your direction and guidance will lead the way to improve and enhance the service's performance. You will have an objective stance and be tasked with gathering data to perfect processes and ways of working.

Passion – you will be passionate about our service and have the desire to see things through from culmination to completion, ensuring all tasks are finalised above expectations – we want to improve the experience of our customers by making sure our systems are fit for purpose and can be utilised with ease so making the most of our assets and resources at all times – you will be involved in benchmarking, drawing from the experience of others to ascertain key developments and improvements – your responsibilities will extend to liaising with other service areas and stakeholders, guaranteeing the asset register is kept up to date and utilised efficiently

Innovative – this is a brand new role concentrating on a new key area of expertise so your focus and drive will be at the forefront of innovation – you will be at the helm of our progression in this new era engaging customers with your plans for growth and improvements – we want you to challenge current business practices and use your negotiation skills to persuade clients to change how they operate for the better, considering ideas, methods and processes that they may not have contemplated previously  – your persistence and determination will allow these new enhancements to take shape, accomplishing a beneficial change for service delivery

Strategic – you'll have a strategic approach and be influential when communicating your ideas to your team and customers – we want you to provide briefing notes and reports to a number of different audiences such as Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport and the Highways Infrastructure Asset Management Board – multi-tasking and remaining flexible are desired attributes to ensure we are responsive to customer reported issues – you will be working to deadlines and need to prioritise your workload efficiently so all tasks are completed in a timely manner
