Location: Mersea

Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Consensus Support Services to recruit Support Workers for their residential care facilities, Aldeburgh House in Mersea Island.

The shift patterns vary with both full time and part time hours available and will require day, night and weekend working. Shift times can be discussed at interview stage.

Consensus was established in 2005 to support individuals with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs, including Prader-Willi Syndrome. For more than a decade their business and reputation has continued to grow. Consensus are committed to delivering the highest standards of support and is nationally recognised and validated by the many awards they receive and the consistently high ratings they receive from national regulators. What's more, their colleagues are among the best and most dedicated in the sector: trusted by individuals, families, local authorities and commissioners alike to deliver the best in personalised support in bespoke settings.

Aldeburgh House is a pleasant house on Mersea Island, Colchester providing a residential service for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities, autism and complex needs. Some individuals may also have behaviours which others might find challenging. Very close to the beach, the house has a very friendly, homely feel and lots of natural daylight. Aldeburgh offers a safe, supportive, person centred setting. The service has eight large single bedrooms - seven of which are en-suite, a pleasant, bright lounge and sunny garden. It is also wheelchair accessible so is suitable for people who may have additional physical disabilities or mobility issues.

As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for supporting an inclusive lifestyle within the community as individuals attend local colleges or day trips out. Develop greater independence and daily living skills by assisting with the upkeep of the service, preparing meals, shopping and domestic duties. Providing help with personal care such as washing, bathing and dressing whilst working across various shift patterns including early, late and weekend or night shifts.

If you enjoy working as part of a team, are patient and caring with a positive attitude and are looking to join a growing organisation with great benefits, Consensus would love to hear from you. They also recruit for attitude and personality so, if you don't have all the right skills, Consensus can provide a full induction, relevant training and the support you need to get the most from your role.
