The Asset Management Service is creating a new Support Services team which will provide specialised administrative support across the service. We are looking for a Support Services Manager and three Support Services Officers who will work flexibly across our business areas which provide strategic management of Lancashire County Council's highways, property, schools, trees, and decarbonisation programme.

If you are looking to gain experience of working across a strategic service and are keen to develop new skills, then this may be the role for you.

Team activities will include:

  • Responsibility for day-to-day issues relating to office services
  • Systems support to carry out a work scheduling role
  • Coordinating, monitoring and organising administrative or financial systems and procedures
  • Providing financial advice and support on budgetary, financial and accounting issues such as budget monitoring procedures, financial costing advice or statutory financial responsibilities
  • Producing budgets, long term financial plans and forecasts, financial monitoring reports and completing reconciliations between accounting systems
  • Monitoring and reviewing administrative and clerical procedures and systems and making recommendations for efficiencies and improvements

Applicants must have an attention to detail and be enthusiastic about new ways of working to improve systems and process. Members of the team will have the opportunity to be involved in some of the environmental and asset improvement projects the service leads on such as participating and aiding in the organisation of community tree planting events, creating new school places and developing decarbonisation projects.

Training will be provided to the successful applicants.

You will be required to provide a car for use in connection with the duties of this post and must be insured for business use. However, we may consider you if you cannot drive because of a disability
