Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Abbeyfield Southend Society to recruit Care Assistants for their residential care service, St George's House in Westcliff-on-Sea.

The shift patterns vary with both full time and part time hours available and will require day, night and weekend working. Shift times can be discussed at interview stage.

The Abbeyfield Society is a National Charity which provides Registered Care and Sheltered Housing for older people. As part of the National Movement, The Abbeyfield Society is a non-profit making Registered Charity which, in the spirit of its founder, is dedicated to making the lives of its Residents, comfortable, safe, dignified, and enjoyable whilst at the same time providing companionship and support to alleviate loneliness. The Society has been providing accommodation for older people in the Southend Borough since 1964 and operates one Registered Care Home and four Sheltered Houses, all of which are run and managed by dedicated teams of paid staff and Volunteers.

They currently have vacancies for Care Assistants at their Registered Care Home at St George's House, Westcliff, and they want to hear from people who will share their passion and commitment to enhancing the lives of the older people entrusted to their care. Abbeyfield Southend Society are looking for special people to join their team.

You will ideally have previous experience and possess a relevant qualification in Care, and you must be willing to apply for a clearance from the DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service). However, if you are new to Care, they can provide the necessary training.

Abbeyfield Southend Society applies a robust recruitment vetting process. If you are successful, you will need to undergo a Pre-employment Vetting Procedure.

As part of employment should your role require a DBS check you will be required to register with the DBS update service. The DBS update service ensures all registered DBS certificates are kept up to date and allows authorised parties to view the status of your certificate.
