We have just launched a new place campaign for the district #moresevenoaks adopted the new economic development strategy and have an approved draft investment plan for the UKSPF, a refreshed focus for the West Kent Partnership and an ambitious 10 year development programme.  The Economic Development & Programmes Manager will take a lead role in driving this vision forward and delivering our economic development strategy, corporate plan and UKSPF programme. You will develop policies and projects to make a positive impact on the district and will collaborate with key stakeholders and partners to research, develop and deliver strategic opportunities to include initiatives such as skills improvement, employability, business support and productivity, rural diversification, town centre and destination management.

This wide-ranging role will bring wide variety, and there is great potential for the person to bring new ideas and creative thinking to help shape how we deliver our economic development activities. It is an opportunity to undertake extensive engagement with local businesses and stakeholder organisations to support our economy and promote inward investment.

Your previous experience as an economic development professional and proven track record of preparing grant applications, alongside your knowledge of economic development issues will lead to your success. You will have undertaken research to identify opportunities and will have developed and implemented projects and programmes. You will have a proven track record of influencing partners, communities and other key stakeholders to realise economic development and growth opportunities.

This is an exciting opportunity to someone who enjoys being part of an interdisciplinary team and working in an agile and well-run Council.

This role will be based at our Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks Kent TN13 1HG. We currently operate a hybrid working model for the majority of our roles where your working time will be divided between the office (3 days) and home working (2 days).
