Change lives in the heart of your community.

In Kensington and Chelsea, we put people first. We are committed to ensuring that our communities can access the support they need, when they need it. Our Housing Needs department is fundamental to this mission, providing and improving frontline services for those that need them most.
Our teams do incredible work. And in return we provide them with all the support they need to do their jobs. Plus a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme, and generous annual leave.

The Role:

As the Procurement and Contract Officer, you’ll commission, procure, and manage the council’s supply of temporary accommodation, working towards the improvement and continuous development of the Temporary Accommodation and Resettlement Department as a whole. You’ll be directly involved in helping secure temporary housing for those in need, and in ensuring a consistent supply of housing for years to come. You’ll tender, evaluate, and let contracts to providers, ensuring quality, value for money, and compliance with the Council’s financial regulations and legal requirements.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You:

This is vital, people-first work, and so you’ll fundamentally be an empathetic person passionate about improving the lives of those with a temporary housing need. You’ll have excellent communication skills, and the ability to form and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues across all levels of the organisation and beyond. You’ll ideally have experience of procurement and contract management and an understanding of the private rented sector, including of liaising with private landlords and letting agents. You’ll be an adept problem solver, with the ability to manage a varied and demanding workload.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s alone will not be considered for this role.
