Are you looking for a role where you feel you have made a difference at the end of each working shift? Are you naturally caring, kind and passionate about older people? Bowgreave Rise in Garstang are recruiting 2 Peripatetic Care Assistants to join their friendly team, where everyone feels valued for the work they do!

We are really proud to be one of Lancashire County Council's 16 residential care homes spread right across Lancashire, who provide care and support to more than 700 wonderful residents. We're looking for naturally compassionate people who can help us deliver exceptional care and achieve our vision 'To be the best quality service, safely supporting older people with kindness, dignity, care and compassion to live their life their way'.

You do not need to have any care experience to join our team, the right values, attitude and behaviours are more important than your previous career background. We will however, support and pay for your training, along with a full Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and uniform and we welcome applications from all sections of the community.

About the role:

The core purpose is to provide personal care and general support to older people and people living with dementia in the community or in our residential home Bowgreave Rise. The role will require you to work in both types of settings and, therefore, requires you to be flexible with your hours, workplace venue and also be able to show an ability to work without close supervision when supporting in the community.

About Our Home:

Bowgreave Rise is one of 16 care homes managed by Lancashire County Council, and offers quality safe comfortable care and support for up to 32 people across three homely separate areas. We offer friendly, compassionate, person centred support to people with dementia who choose to live at Bowgreave Rise.

We are a great team but don't just take our word for it!

People who live at Bowgreave Rise said “I love it here and people are nice too.”

Hours of Work:

Shift patterns will vary according to where you are working and in agreement with the Manager but your core hours will be 23.5 hours or 20 hours per week. Your hourly rate will be £9.90 an hour. In addition, enhanced rates of pay will be paid for night, weekend and bank holiday working.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and enabling assistance to service uses living in the community or a residential home setting. This may involve assisting with end of life care.
  • Assist in identifying service users and their carer's needs and contribute to the development of individual support plans.
  • Actively support service users in all aspects of daily life as outlined in their individual support plan.
  • Contribute to the review and monitoring of support plans and in communicating information at meetings or to a line manager.
  • Maintain accurate and appropriate records and complete documentation in accordance with the service involved and following professional and safe process.
  • Participate in supervision/appraisals and training as determined by your line manager.
  • Assist with the administration of medication as per procedures.
  • You do not need to have any care experience to join our team and we welcome applications from all sections of the community. You will have a caring nature, have great people skills and be able to work well with other members of the team. We ask, however, that you show a commitment to achieve an NVQ Level 2 in Care within 12 months of commencing employment which we will pay for.

What you will get in return:

We have a lot to offer people who join our Older Peoples Care Service including a comprehensive training and support package.

Lancashire County Council also offers great staff benefits with generous annual leave entitlements including the option to purchase additional leave days, a well-established staff Health and Wellbeing programme and the opportunity to progress as part of an exciting, well-established service that is looking to bring real benefits to the people of Lancashire.
