About Us:

Use your talents to make a lasting, positive impact for our residents

In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people and local businesses at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient.

Kensington and Chelsea understands the opportunity and necessity of positive innovation and change. In particular, we are reviewing our property portfolio and management to ensure it delivers social value and aligns with our ambitions on equality, diversity and inclusion. Understanding the needs of our residents and the organisation that supports them is critical.

The Role:

In this fast paced and rewarding role, you’ll be responsible for the performance of our Housing Management System (Capita Open Housing, upgrading to Capita One Housing). You’ll ensure that application speed, availability, data integrity, and core functions within the applications are all running smoothly and to the highest standards. The role will also require you to manage and coach a team of developers, BAs and training staff, and to support business managers within the organisation.

You’ll need to manage and monitor development requests and incident tickets, to meet service level agreements and address any problems that need solving. You’ll also need to manage budgets, contracts and ensure compliance with GDPR and other relevant regulatory standards.

This role carries a good deal of responsibility, but also offers the chance to show skill and creativity to shape a new IT system and the services we offer and make a genuine, positive difference to the lives of thousands of people.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You:

You’ll be an enthusiastic, customer-focused individual with expert knowledge of Housing Management Systems (particularly Capita) and what the product can do. With an in-depth understanding of local government housing services and local authorities, you’ll be experienced at thinking analytically to solve problems and innovate. You’ll have excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and inspire colleagues as you build relationships and manage workloads. You’ll be a confident decision maker, and you’ll be a natural when it comes to explaining complex technical issues and concepts in a manner that’s both professional and accessible.

This is a busy, varied role, so you’ll be comfortable working at a fast pace and managing competing priorities. Perhaps most importantly, you’ll have passion for improving people’s lives that means you strive for excellence each and every day, and you’ll be able to bring out the best in your colleagues so that they do the same.
