Two exciting opportunities have arisen in the Children and Family Wellbeing Service (Early Help) for the appointment of a Practice Development Lead Officer (Grade 8)

The Children and Family Wellbeing Service (CFW) offers early help and support to children, young people age 0-19+yrs (0 - 25yrs for SEND) and their families across Lancashire. The service responds as early as possible when a child, young person or family needs support, helping them to access services to meet their needs and working with them to ensure the support offered is right for them, is offered in the right place, and at the right time.  The main focus of the service is to provide an enhanced level of support which is prioritised towards those groups or individuals who have more complex or intensive needs or who are at risk and particularly where we think that providing early help will make a positive difference.

One position will support the Hyndburn, Ribble Valley and Rossendale Teams and is fixed term until 31 March 2025. The other position will support the Burnley and Pendle Teams and is fixed term until 1 September 2024.  The primary focus of the roles is to support and improve practice. This will be undertaken by supporting key practice development and improvement strategies at a locality level through planned workforce development and thematic leadership around areas such as public health outcomes, school readiness, learning outcomes/curriculum programmes and accreditation, digital inclusion including social media and risk taking behaviour/exploitation. These positions will take the lead on key thematic roles at a locality level to ensure knowledge is shared around best practice as well as undertaking practice improvement activities.

The successful candidate must possess excellent communication and analytical skills to enable them to interpret information and present this in a way that effects positive changes in practice. Interpersonal skills are also a key component of the role as positive relationships will need to be developed with staff and managers across the teams directly supported and within the Service.

These opportunities are based within the service's central management team where you will report directly to a Quality Review Officer.

The postholder will undertake aspects of their work from County Hall in Preston and within the neighbourhood centres across either Hyndburn, Ribble Valley and Rossendale or Burnley and Pendle but, will be working in line with the County Councils Our Ways of Working (O-Wow) arrangements.

Please ensure you have uploaded and attached your supporting statement to evidence how you meet the criteria for the role. The panel may be unable to shortlist you for interview without this evidence.

Applications close 04.09.2022 – interviews will be held week commencing 12th Sept
