Do you have a passion and commitment for improving education for children and young people who are Deaf and / or Vision Impaired?
This is an exciting post within the Low Incidence Team which is focused on supporting the wellbeing of Deaf and vision impaired children and young people. We are seeking to recruit a Student Wellbeing Officer to join our team of enthusiastic professionals.
You will:
- Support the social and emotional wellbeing of children and young people by adopting an attachment aware and trauma informed approach to developing and monitoring the wellbeing, attendance and behaviour of Deaf and vision impaired pupils at Hanson School.
- Work alongside staff in the Local Authority led Resourced Provision and mainstream school to ensure the wellbeing needs of Deaf and vision impaired pupils are met. Supporting staff to understand and adopt attachment aware and trauma informed approaches and strategies.
- Work directly with pupils and families to ensure a high standard of wellbeing support. Developing and delivering specific programmes and interventions as appropriate with individuals and groups of pupils to promote positive mental health, behaviour, attendance and wellbeing.
