This is a 12 month fixed term contract

Sandwell’s vision is to be an open, fair and inclusive Borough that embraces and celebrates Sandwell’s rich and diverse communities, cultures, and traditions; and where everyone is treated fairly and given opportunities to make the most of their talents and realise their aspirations across all six towns in the borough and imbedding equality in all that it does.

To achieve this, Sandwell Council is well underway on its ambitious journey to deliver and embed a sustainable EDI Agenda. Our progress to date provides huge optimism for the future, but we recognise that we have more to do; from looking at what equalities and diversity means for Sandwell, how inequalities and discrimination are addressed and where we can make improvements for the benefit of all council employees and Sandwell residents.

We are looking to recruit an EDI Consultant. The successful candidate will play a leading role in helping to design, build and deliver a strategic EDI infrastructure to support the Council’s Corporate and Directorate service plans.

The candidate will have detailed knowledge and understanding of EDI legislation along with demonstrable experience in leading EDI initiatives and managing projects within a complex organisation.

You will also be education to Level 5 or equivalent in a relevant subject.
