We are currently looking to recruit a number of drivers for our Passenger Fleet Team


Contract type:

Permanent contracts available - up to 25 hours per week for school term time only with the opportunity for additional hours (when available)


Driver are primarily responsible for transporting vulnerable adults and children with special educational needs including physical and/or learning difficulties to their School, Day Centres and other activities.


Drivers will ensure (along with the escort - where allocated) their passengers' personal wellbeing and safe/secure travel at all times, in accordance with the job descritpion, relevant Policies, legislation, Procedures and good practice.

Duties may also include transporting associated goods and services.

There are various vacancies available operating from depots across the County of Leicestershire.

Current vacancy packages:

Blaby Depot - 10 hours per week (Monday to Friday) term time only
Blaby Depot - 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday) term time only
Loughborough - 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday) term time only
Melton - 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday) term time only
Mountsorrel Depot - 15 hours per week (Wed - Friday) term time only
Nailstone Depot - 10 hours per week (Thursday and Friday) term time only
(*example of split shift = 7.30am - 10am / 2pm - 5.30pm)

Temporary position:

Mountsorrel Depot - Temporary post for four months, 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Casual positions also available.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Full Driving Licence prior to 1/1/1997 OR post 1/1/1997 Driving License with minibus entitlement category D1 (minimum) or D
  • Working with the public.
  • Working with vulnerable groups.
