An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced social worker/AMHP to join the Operational Commissioning Mental Health Team, Blaby Oadby Wigston and Market Harborough, based at Bassett Street, South Wigston. We are an established friendly team supporting adults over the age of 18 with complex Mental Health needs and those people living with drug and alcohol abuse.  There is a currently a focus on flexible working, with the opportunity to work from both home and office.  However, for the duty function, there is an expectation that this will be worked from the office in order to have a collaborative approach with other service areas within the locality.

Main Duties involve: 

  • Completing community care assessments under the Care Act 2014
  • Completing Mental Capacity assessments
  • Undertaking Safeguarding Adults enquiries and implementing/ engaging in the VARM (vulnerable Adults Risk Management) process as needed.MDT work
  • Undertaking applications to the Court of Protection as required.
  • Being a member of the duty rota on a regular basis
  • Completing MHA 1983 assessments, including CTO's and Guardianship.
  • The successful candidate will also be expected to participate on the Countywide AMHP rota on a regular basis, as well as any MHA 1983 considerations needed for those on their caseload. This is usually work from an AMHP hub based at County Hall Glenfield, but during Covid-19 most AMHP's are working from home unless otherwise agreed.   

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Social Work Degree/ Masters/ Diploma or equivalent Social Work qualification (as    recognised by Social Work England). • Qualified to act as an Approved Mental Health Professional in England. • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

The post holder will be based at Bassett Street however due to the nature of the role you must have the ability to travel to other areas within the locality areas.
