Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council’s Urban Design & Building Services team is looking to employ a permanent Graduate Structural Engineer. You will be working alongside a creative, innovative, multi-disciplinary and self-motivated team of professionals (Architects, Landscape Architects, Structural Engineers, Property Surveyors, Building Control Inspectors, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers and associated co-ordination staff).

You will form part of a specialist team managing and delivering all aspects of Structural Engineering requirements for a large multi-site organisation, working on different types of buildings with a broad range of structural forms. Your role will involve interactive and collaborative working with our in-house teams, other local authorities, private sector consultants and delivery partners.

You will be required to provide the service on behalf of Urban Design & Building Services internal and external clients.

This vacancy is ideal for a suitably qualified person.  The minimum requirement for this post is a honours degree in Civil Engineering. The minimum requirements are set out in the Job Description and Personal Specifications of the post.

Further technical and practical training, where appropriate, will be provided to allow a suitably academically qualified person to become a Chartered member of professional body.
