Are you looking for a role where you feel you have made a difference at the end of each working day? Are you naturally caring, kind and passionate about older people? Castleford home for older people are recruiting for a Care Assistant to join the friendly team, where everyone feels valued for the work they do!

We are really proud to be one of Lancashire County Council's 16 residential care homes spread right across Lancashire, who provide care and support to more than 700 wonderful residents. We're looking for naturally compassionate people who can help us deliver exceptional care and achieve our vision 'To be the best quality service, safely supporting older people with kindness, dignity, care and compassion to live their life their way'.

You do not need to have any care experience to join our team, the right values, attitude and behaviours are more important than your previous career background. We will however, support and pay for your training, along with a full Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and uniform and we welcome applications from all sections of the community.

About Our Home:

Castleford is a purpose built, two story home for older people located in the heart of the Ribble Valley in Clitheroe. It is only a short walk away from the town centre, which is a bustling market town. We offer quality, safe, comfortable, care and support for up to 47 people across four homely separate areas. We offer friendly, compassionate, person centred support to people who choose Castleford as their home. We welcome people living with dementia, older people for residential care, short term respite stays and people who need intermediate care to support their rehabilitation.

We are a great team but don't just take our word for it!

People who live at Castleford have said: "The care staff look after us well and are kind. Staff look after me and have cheeky smiles, I love them. I feel safe and well looked after, staff are very helpful. Food is good and the people are nice"

This position is part time. Please note that the salary quoted is full time equivalent and if successful the salary received will be paid on a pro–rata basis.  The hourly rate, however, is £9.90. In addition, enhanced rates of pay will be paid for weekend and bank holiday working.

Here are a few things we look for in our Care Assistants:

We are looking for people with a caring nature and a big smile, with a genuine desire to make people's lives better. A good pair of eyes and ears is a must as you will be spending time with our residents, listening to a lifetime worth of memories and building positive relationships with them, their family and your colleagues. Judgement and creativity is essential as your day will be varied. You will have good time management, patience and a sense of humour to make someone's day brighter and happier. If you have ambition to learn, career development is possible and we will always be there to support you no matter what.

What you will get in return:

We have a lot to offer people who join our Older Peoples Care Service including a comprehensive training and support package.
