Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Acorn Villages to recruit Awake Night Support Workers for their supported living facility in Mistley, Manningtree.

The shift patterns vary with both full time and part time hours available and will require night and weekend working. This role will consist of working 12-hour shifts, decisions around work patterns can be discussed at interview stage.

Acorn Village offer high quality care and accommodation to adults with learning disabilities.
Within two models of care, residential and supported living services, they can provide support to meet a number of needs within large or small care packages.

The role of Support Worker will include working on a shift basis assisting with personal, social, emotional needs and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment.

Responsibilities

  • Providing personal care (include support with personal hygiene, meals, activities alongside household tasks)
  • Build relationships with residents, provide emotional and social support, recognise needs for alternative methods of communication when required
  • Promote and support person centred decision making, choice and independence
  • Liaising with families, friends and professional bodies when required
