This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team, working at the heart of Lancashire County Council and across multiple partnerships. With an enquiring and analytical mind, and an attention to detail, you will deliver the evidence base to shape Lancashire's strategies and services.

You will be part of the council's Business Intelligence team, which plays a central role in supporting all services across the council and its partners to better understand the people who live in county, and provide insights into our social, economic and cultural landscape.

You will support the team to deliver strategic intelligence that will be used by senior management in the council and the various partnerships in Lancashire to drive improved outcomes for our residents.

You will collate, analyse, visualise and report public health and community safety information to support various programmes, initiatives, local and national policy, and council priorities.

Your skills and experience will mean that you

  • are experienced in working with data, particularly health, community safety or social data
  • can manipulate data using complex formulas or programming
  • have experience of analysing large complex databases, working with multiple sets of data, and responding to detailed data requests and enquires
  • are a highly competent user of Microsoft Excel, have familiarity with Microsoft Access, and you may have experience with tools such as Power BI
  • can work to sometimes tight deadlines across concurrent projects, across multiple organisations

During the selection process, candidates will be assessed against the essential qualifications, experience and knowledge, skills, and abilities in the role profile.

The office base for this role is County Hall, Preston, although it is currently home-based.

In return Lancashire County Council offers a range of benefits, found on our website here

Please ensure you have uploaded and attached your supporting statement to evidence how you meet the criteria for the role. The panel may be unable to shortlist you for interview without this evidence.

We reserve the right to close down a vacancy early, before the closing date, if we receive sufficient applications.
