Lancashire Volunteer Partnership (LVP) was set up in 2016 as a gateway into public volunteer services. Founding partners included Lancashire County Council, Lancashire Constabulary, Office of the Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service who identified the opportunity to share their approach to managing volunteering across the organisations. By working together, it was possible to pool resources, share good practice and streamline systems and processes all with the aim of improving how we attract, support and retain volunteers across public services. The number of partner organisations, volunteering opportunities, people and communities supported by LVP has grown steadily in that time and now includes Blackburn with Darwen Council, Blackpool Council and some NHS partners.
