The role will support the Head of Inclusion in the overall management and leadership of the Inclusive Education & Learning Team, including; the Re-engagement Team, Behaviour Support Service, Early Intervention team and Achievement, Cohesion and Integration Services. The post-holder will have direct responsibility for financial resources, managing the ACIS budget and will require knowledge of the Higher Needs funding and experience of managing service budgets including budget setting and long-term planning.
You will be responsible for day-to-day leadership and management of Inclusion Services and supporting with the strategic implementation of the Belonging in Bolton Strategy and the development of inclusive practice across Bolton.
You will play a lead role in improving outcomes for and raising achievement of children within alternative provision, deputising for the Head of Inclusion as appropriate at strategic meetings and management of Inclusion services. You will lead on key pieces of work aligned to the Bolton 2030 Vision working closely with schools and key partners to develop and enhance inclusive practice across settings in Bolton with the aim of reducing exclusions and promoting good attendance.
The post-holder will require a good understanding and working knowledge of the legislation, guidance and processes around the suspension and permanent exclusion of pupils from maintained schools, academies and pupil referral units, including pupil movement.
You will be an experienced manager, educated to degree level and have experience of working in the area of inclusion or education.
