Working together to build safer communities

In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people and local businesses at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient. Following the Grenfell tragedy we have brought our social housing stock under local authority management. Alongside extensive investments in the built environment, we are committed to improving quality of life for our residents. To achieve this, we’re working closely with local communities and a variety of community safety partners.

The Role:

With a focus on addressing anti-social behaviour (ASB), you’ll have the opportunity to significantly increase levels of satisfaction among our residents. Supported by a small team and a Mental Health Practitioner, you’ll take the lead on high-profile and high-priority ASB cases, implementing the Council’s Housing ASB policy and ensuring safeguarding. Since finding solutions can involve anything from improved sound-proofing to police action, you’ll also work to build strong relationships with key partner agencies. Improving overall team performance will also be a key part of the role. We want you to be proactive and collaborative in shaping a service councillors understand and residents can trust.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You:

The role demands a good understanding of the law around anti-social behaviour as well as the responsibilities of social housing landlords.  You are therefore likely to have a background in housing, probation or policing as well as good insights into the challenges people face in high-density accommodation. Patient and resilient, you’ll have the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people, and you’ll be equipped to follow cases through, right up to preparing for presentation in Court. Highly organised, you’ll be able to manage a varied workload and to inspire a team to deliver a continuously improving service.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.
