We are seeking an enthusiastic public transport officer to join our growing Sustainable Travel Team. You will play a key role in working with our local public transport providers to improve and promote their offer by leading on the work of our Enhanced Partnership. You will be passionate about supporting the delivery of high quality bus services meeting the needs of our diverse community. For the right individual we will provide you with support and guidance to develop your career in local transport service delivery.

What will you be doing?

The role will support the development and implementation of the Council’s policies and strategies around public transport. In particular the role will support the development of and lead on delivering elements of the Bus Service Improvements Plan, and support the activity of the West Northamptonshire Enhanced Partnership.

The postholder will work closely with a range of stakeholders at local, regional and national levels.

You will play an important role in ensuring that the Council maximises its investment in public transport and in securing external funding for transport infrastructure and service improvements. 

About you

You will be degree level educated with experience of local transport policy and planning, and thorough knowledge of bus industry operations.

You will be an enthusiastic team player with a passion for delivering local transport improvements, and an effective communicator with strong research and report writing skills.
