At the heart of our Children’s Services, the Business Support team plays a pivotal role in ensuring smooth operations. As a Business Support Officer, you will be the backbone of our daily activities, providing essential support to keep our services running seamlessly. You will join a team that supports three social work teams, comprised of a team manager and 4 to 5 social workers situated in each team. You will be part of a closely knit and fully supportive team, helping each other where needed under the leadership of your Business Support Team Manager.Can you join our mission to provide exceptional services to children and families?About the roleYou will report directly to our Business Support Team Manager, who oversees the Family Safeguarding and Supporting Disabled Children’s services. You will be one of the two Business Support Officers, working closely with the Senior Business Support Officer and cover a range of tasks to assist the social work team with their duties including:Finance Administration: Setting up new suppliers on Council database and payments system. Administering Direct Payments to parents and carers of disabled children, Processing of invoices, including investigating and resolving disputes. Entering and varying commitments of Council database for forecasting and reporting purposes.Data Management: Ensuring that demographic information is accurately captured and recorded on database. Minute Taking: Ensure meeting minutes are completed and returned within agreed timescales. Diary Management: Organise Duty rotas and arrange meetings, including booking rooms.Document Management: Manage SharePoint folders and filing systems, ensuring accurate document uploads.Inbox Management: Handle service enquiries promptly and effectively.Essential Qualifications, Skills and ExperiencePressure-Ready: Thrive in a fast-paced environment.Highly Organised: Juggle multiple tasks with ease.Excel Wizard: Confidently use spreadsheets.Database Guru: Maintain data accuracy.Effective Communicator: Engage with service users and colleagues across SEND and health services.Confidentiality Champion: Understand the importance of discretion.Flexible Team Player: Support other areas within the Business Support Service.Growth Opportunities:This is a link-graded role and progression to higher grades is based on experience and knowledge.
