Due to the promotion of the current post holder , opportunities have arisen within the Housing and Estate Management Service, to appoint to the crucial role of Area Housing Assistants.  You will be working with colleagues to provide support and information to tenants regarding their tenancy under Rotherham Council’s Tenancy Agreement.  Undertaking visits to tenant’s homes, advising tenant’s over the telephone and by email.   

The Area Housing Assistant role provides critical support to the Area Housing Officers in the Tenancy & Estate Management Services, in dealing with a broad range of customer issues and enquiries. The team undertakes home visits to tenants to complete Tenancy Health Checks which are a prevention, early intervention visit,  which includes offering advice and support to tenants which can lead to referrals being made to Adult Social Services, Children’s Services, GP’s,  Mental Health Services and third sector organisations.

Area Housing Assistants support the Area Housing Officers with less complex tenancy management work including less complex Successions to tenancies,  Sole to Joint tenancies and general tenancy management queries which frees up the time of the Area Housing Officers to visit and investigate more complex cases.
