Join us as a Senior Applications Support Analyst and make a significant impact with your technical expertise. In this senior role, you will be the go-to expert, providing technical advice, consultancy, and support for critical IT applications used by the Council. Beyond support, you'll help shape the design and implementation of new software applications and upgrades.
We are looking to grow the team amidst new large projects and numerous changes, always exploring digital initiatives like AI and our Innovation Hub. Your contributions will be crucial to the success of corporate projects and the achievement of the council's objectives. As a Senior Applications Support Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert technical guidance and translating business requirements into effective IT solutions, and providing expert advice on the best applications to implement ensuring that our portfolio meets both current and future business needs.
Our key stakeholders include Housing, Revenue & Benefits, Elections, Regulatory Services, Education, Adult Social Care, Children’s Trust and Customer Services, and you’ll be supporting a wide array of business applications such as AWS, Biztalk, Capita Open Housing, Capita Academy, CareFirst, Enterprise Document Management, Express, GoAnywhere, Liquid Logic, VMware, Zenworks etc.
You'll collaborate closely with the wider DTI team encompassing infrastructure, networks, DBAs, desktop support, and the service desk to ensure smooth DTI delivery, minimise downtime, and enhance overall efficiency.
Your responsibilities will include upgrading server software and packaging applications for deployment, managing windows updates across all servers, managing documentation and providing training. You will also lead risk analysis, oversee project delivery, resolve complex technical issues, and spearhead strategic upgrades to maintain optimal system performance."

About youWe are seeking an accomplished professional to fill this role, someone who excels in motivating and developing skilled IT professionals within the team. You thrive in investigating and resolving complex business application issues, implementing preventive measures, and directing technical project implementations. A proactive thinker, you will excel in recommending, planning, and managing upgrades and changes to business applications.
You have the ability to influence senior managers, produce clear documentation independently, work autonomously or collaboratively, and effectively prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
