We are looking for responsible, caring people to join our fantastic team at Malon Way, Aspire Hub 1,  in Sheffield as Residential Childcare practitioners on a casual basis covering sickness, holidays and training and any vacancies across services.  We have 8 posts to offer.

You will support our children and young people in their daily lives, ensuring they are safe, comfortable, and healthy and being a positive role model.  When it comes to looking after our children, we never settle for second best. We are looking for Residential Childcare Practitioners who share our vision to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people to be happy and supported to achieve their full potential.

This is a great opportunity to start or continue your career in care, working as part of a team committed to helping children with varied and complex needs. Your work will be challenging and rewarding and you will be working in a setting where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where children and young people are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.

Our Residential Childcare Practitioners carry out an essential and varied role to provide individual, bespoke support required by the children and young people in our care. You will take children to appointments and support them to undertake various outdoor activities, deliver personal care, undertake household tasks, and where appropriate administer medication. You will need to be computer literate as you will have to complete reports on our Liquid Logic social care system.

Previous experience in a care setting working with vulnerable young people would be advantageous but isn’t essential as full training will be given, and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important. These roles are ideal for people who are looking for a new role that makes a real difference to children’s lives and futures and supports your new career.

You will be calm, engaging, resilient, able to work the required shifts, and be motivated to provide a safe, caring environment where every child can thrive.  All casual workers are required to attend the induction and three day safeguarding training.

You will need to be able to work on a rota basis as we provide care 24/7 and this will include working bank holidays and some weekends as part of the rota. You may need to sleep in as part of your rota.

If you work out of hours then generous enhancements will be paid.  Weekend working is paid at time and half and bank holidays are paid at double time.  Sleep in payments are currently £37.08.
