About the Team
County Highway’s Client Services Team is charged with the routine maintenance of the highway network in Warwickshire as well as dealing with all enquiries from the public and other stakeholders, licencing and legal enforcement of the Highways Act 1980, winter maintenance activities, Councillor delegated budget schemes and contributing to forward programmes of larger structural maintenance works.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Highway Area Surveyor, to work in the highway maintenance arena. With continuing investment into Warwickshire’s highway network, we aim to ensure that our roads and footpaths are fit for future generations and continue to score highly in national surveys.
The Highway Area Surveyor role is a fantastic opportunity for self-starters with experience in Highways and Traffic Management and knowledge of current legislation relating to Highways Act 1980.
In this role as a Highway Area Surveyor you would be part of the South Area Client Team, based at Budbrooke. You will be responsible for a geographical area in the County, within which you will be dealing with all routine highways related matters and making responses to all customer contacts within your area, including dealing with our Winter service and Out of Hours emergencies on a rota basis. The Emergency Rotas are subject to additional standby payments plus additional hours worked, on top of the base salary.
You would also be responsible for determining many different programmes of highway maintenance work, managing demand from members of the Public, Elected Member and Parish Councils. Managing Highway regulation and providing customer service, to ensure Warwickshire meets its obligations under the Highways Act and other relevant legislation.

Key Requirements
An understanding of or experience with current highway maintenance best practices would be an advantage, as would familiarity with Highways Act 1980, TMA (2004), NRSWA (1991) winter service experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
