If you are, then the role of Supported Housing Assistant presents the very challenge you are looking for.
A vacancy currently exists for a Supported Housing Assistant to join the Leaving Care Accommodation team. You will provide support to looked after children and care leavers aged 16-25 to promote independent living. You will be a point of contact to residents in supported accommodation, in their own dispersed accommodation and ensure that the service provides a safe and welcoming environment.
You will be a highly motivated individual and will have the ability to offer one-to-one and group support to care leavers including; planning and facilitating group activities.
The work will also involve contributing to the operation of the Leaving Care Accommodation Services and ensuring that they are maintained to a high standard. This will include ensuring good order is maintained in these services so that all residents can peacefully occupy the premises and neighbour nuisance, both internal and external to the building is minimized.
You will have some experience of working with young people through paid employment or a volunteering role, and will be able to work positively with young people and ensure that they achieve significant progress. You will enable care leavers to manage risk by providing support, guidance and information on health and safety and support them in managing their physical environment. This requires understanding and working in adherence with risk assessments and risk management plans.
This position is full time on a three week rota working one weekend in three and including evenings, and bank holidays. The working hours are from 08:00am to 21:30pm.
