We are looking for 3 highly motivated and experienced individuals for the position of Principal Surveyor within the Corporate Property and Land Service at Durham County Council. With a large, varied estate spread throughout the County, the team lead and support the delivery of the Council’s commercial and corporate estate and within this varied role, including negotiating leases on a variety of property types and all estate management matters.
WHAT IS INVOLVED?
Our work is varied and supports a variety of Council requirements, examples include leading on redevelopment opportunities, supporting communities to take ownership of assets, maximising revenue from our commercial portfolio, using our land to secure ecological and climate change outcomes and many more, no one day is the same!
You will support the day-to-day management of the Council's land and building estate, working closely with other public and private sector partners and be integral to the Corporate Property and Land team to deliver the desired outcomes for the benefit of County Durham.

WHAT WILL I NEED?
As part of the team responsible for providing the Council with a full professional estate service, we are looking for an individual with experience across a range of areas. We would expect applicants to possess a strong knowledge of general estate management and valuation, as well as the ability to think strategically to achieve best value for our assets, in addition to being MRICS qualified.

HYBRID WORKING
Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer.
