The Council’s Planning Services play a fundamental role in managing the natural and built environment, ensuring that the future development needs of the area can be accommodated to make it a better place in which to live and work. 

 

The new Delivery and Infrastructure team is focused on delivering strategic and local sites across North Yorkshire. We are working towards building relationships with funding partners and infrastructure providers and developers. The team ensures that funds from new developments are collected and used to support our community development goals.

 

Role summary…

 

As one of the Infrastructure Funding Officers, you will monitor the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) and Section 106 (S106) agreements daily. You will ensure developer contributions are collected on time and that payments are distributed according to S106 legal agreements and CIL spending priorities.

You are required to maintain accurate records of CIL, and S106 funds received. You will also help to develop a central and effective monitoring system.

In this role, you will collaborate with colleagues to build relationships and understanding across the service. You will also work closely with colleagues in other departments, especially planning, finance and legal.

Full training will be provided to the successful candidate(s)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and Monitor: Administer the collection and distribution of developer contributions, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of CIL and S106 monies, and contribute to the development of a centralized monitoring system.
  • Professional Advice: Provide advice on CIL and S106 matters, including interpreting regulations and planning obligations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across various departments, including planning, finance and legal, to ensure effective operation of CIL and S106 processes.
  • Community Engagement: Engage proactively with Parish Councils, community groups, and other stakeholders to identify spending priorities
