Sheffield has a bold vision to become a net zero-carbon city working with our partners, residents, businesses and city institutions to help make this a reality.  We have launched our first Decarbonisation Route maps, setting the stage for innovative projects like expanding our heat networks and rolling out electric vehicle recharging infrastructure.

Delivering these programmes will require significant investment and the Council has committed to issue its first Local Climate Bond this coming year. 

We are keen to hear from candidates with experience and expertise in climate finance and funding, and who would be confident and capable of supporting our climate bond issuance, alongside delivering other projects.

You’ll be expected to have proven professional excellence in the field of climate change and considerable experience in the governance and delivery of decarbonisation programmes and projects.

With excellent verbal and written communication skills, you will be able to build strong relationships and have experience of preparing business cases, securing funding or investment and possess robust financial management skills.
